Speech & Language Therapy

At MBC, speech and language therapy services are provided in 30, 45 or 60 minute intervals depending on your child’s needs. Our speech-language pathologists (SLP) are highly trained in the assessment and treatment of children presenting with deficits in receptive, expressive and pragmatic language as well as motor speech and speech sound disorders.  Additionally, our SLP’s have experience and knowledge programming and implementing various forms of Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC), which include low-tech and high-tech devices.

Therapy sessions are data driven and evidence-based techniques are utilized.  We firmly believe in making therapy a fun, dynamic learning experience for children by incorporating diverse tools, materials and technology within therapy sessions.  Our SLP’s work with all staff on a child’s team and value the importance of multidisciplinary collaboration.

Each SLP holds a Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) and New York State professional licensure, are level I PROMPT© (Prompts for Restructuring Oral Muscular Phonetic Targets) trained and proficient in the principles of Applies Behavior Analysis (ABA).
